That price can vary depending on the size and complexity of what is requested.

Matting

Matting, the colored border that separates the drawing from the frame, has two major functions:

Aesthetics – properly chosen mats enhance the look and feel of a piece of art.

Separation – when framed, the mat puts some space between the artwork and the transparent glass or acrylic glazing allowing the art to expand and contract in changing environmental conditions and preventing any of the artwork’s media from transferring to the glazing.

Standard single mat (click to see an example) – $35.00
Standard two-color double mat (click to see an example) – $50.00
Standard two or three-color triple mat (click to see an example) – $70.00
Specialty mat cuts and colors (click to see an example) TBD
“V” Groove (click to see an example) – $25.00*

*The “V” Groove is a classy way to add another dimension to a standard single mat, but it can be used with the other mat styles described above to create interesting effects.

Framing

The final touch in presenting one of my drawings is the frame. The frame is important in that you want it to complement the entire ensamble and not distract the viewer the drawing.

Either you can provide the frame for the piece you purchase, or I can choose and purchase the frame for you. I will often choose a simple, black frame for most of my drawings to help keep the focus of the viewer on the art inside the frame. Because each drawing and its matting is unique in size and style, pricing for frames is done on a case by case basis.

Prints

Prints of most of my existing drawings are available on a limited basis. I often limit the number of prints from particular drawings to 50. The prints are signed and numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity.

Limited Edition Print – $150.00
Limited Edition Print, double matted and ready for framing – $200.00

Pricing Artwork Currently, a typical 16″x20″ drawing is priced at $400.
